Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Director to join our team at Industrial Cleaning Equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and managing our end-to-end approach to health and safety across our fleet, employees, and premises, as well as driving our ESG strategy across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Manage and resolve requests for information and queries from site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Coordinate and deploy consultants and contractors
  • Complete and document risk assessments
  • Manage permits to work/DBS checks and authorisations for access
  • Research current safety legislation and translate into meaningful text for distribution
  • Maintain a comprehensive administrative Health & Safety filing system in accordance with our Health & Safety Policy
  • Develop and oversee environmental, social, and corporate governance policies and procedures
  • Work with all areas of the business to collate key ESG data every month for our ESG portal
  • Keep up to date with emerging policies, grants, and industry insights related to sustainability

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in health and safety/OSH (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH Diploma or Level 5 NVQ
  • Extensive knowledge and working experience as a Health and Safety Manager, or OSH Manager within industry
  • Experience in the industrial cleaning machine industry is desirable
  • Strong business acumen with a strategic approach to safety objectives
  • Ability to produce and deliver high-quality communications (presentations, reports, and emails)
  • Experience of leading projects, articulating direction and findings to senior stakeholders
