Job Opportunity

NES Fircroft is seeking an Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory-based team, you will be responsible for delivering key Industrial Hygiene capabilities in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of current and emerging legislation, developing and overseeing delivery of agreed monitoring programmes.
  • Provide deep expertise and specialist advice to manufacturing on environmental and occupational hygiene science.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the Site Health Map environmental and industrial hygiene programme.
  • Provide an environmental and industrial hygiene troubleshooting service as required.
  • Lead, supervise and train Analytical Technicians and manufacturing technicians in the execution of agreed EIH activities.
  • Take a lead in all HSSE issues within the analytical laboratory and contribute to the development of a HSSE culture fully aligned with the goals of the site.
  • Lead the maintenance of the technology for environmental and occupational hygiene capability and skill base.

Requirements

  • Candidates will hold a Degree qualification in a relevant science discipline, a MSc or PhD is desirable.
  • Hold extensive experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Accreditation as a Member of an appropriate professional body.
  • Active knowledge of the UK Environmental Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and provide creative solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise and set clear direction and boundaries.
