Job Description

Howett Thorpe is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the daily running of the payroll department, working closely with Finance and HR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurate processing of the payroll for around 250 staff, ensuring it is processed accurately and on time.
  • Collating and finalising information regarding starters, leavers and salary changes.
  • Processing payroll HR matters and authorising payroll related payments.
  • Liaising directly with all staff to assist with any HR queries that relate to salaries.
  • Processing monthly timesheets as approved and inputting additional hours on the payroll system.
  • Preparation of monthly payroll and annual statutory returns and related audits.
  • Administration of all pension schemes, completion of year end returns and compliance with audits.
  • Undertaking payroll related projects and managing all system improvements.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail.
