Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Experience with laser cooling and trapping of ions.
  2. Experience operating and calibrating optical, RF, and microwave control hardware.
  3. Working knowledge of precision-timed control systems and signal processing.
  4. Experience implementing quantum gates, quantum algorithms, and/or quantum simulations.
  5. Experience implementing various quantum control protocols on hardware.
  6. Ability to perform simulations and modeling to inform experiments.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a PhD and ideally postdoctoral experience, with at least 5+ years (degree-inclusive) of experience in calibrating, characterizing, and operating experiments for quantum technologies.

A minimum of 5+ years (degree-inclusive) of experience in trapping ions, characterizing qubits, implementing quantum gates, randomized benchmarking, and/or running algorithms is required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in the field of research, are essential.

A strong organizational skillset and experience working and negotiating with customers and partners are necessary.
