Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have exciting opportunities available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Program Management, customers, internal departments, and suppliers to gather relevant information for design development and documentation.
  • Create custom product designs based on customer requirements, ensuring reliability, high quality, and compliance with specifications for parts installed in the passenger cabins of commercial and private aircraft.
  • Develop 2D & 3D CAD designs using SolidWorks and create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for product development.
  • Prepare test solutions and documentation to support qualification testing.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing and finishing techniques.
  • Design for moulding, sheet metal, machining, cables, PCB assemblies, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Use 3D printing for prototyping and development, with hands-on involvement in building prototypes.
  • Understand basic electronics and revise drawings and documentation based on feedback from stakeholders.
  • Conduct drawing and document checks as needed.
  • Review internal and external documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in internal/external meetings and calls, and travel offsite when required.

Requirements:

  • A degree, HNC, or HND in an engineering discipline.
  • Design experience in an engineering environment, preferably in the aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Familiarity with aircraft manufacturers' qualification standards, such as D6-36440, RTCA/DO-160, and ABD0100.1.2.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to find solutions even when complete information is not available.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with team members across different departments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of an engineering office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SolidWorks (or equivalent design software).
