About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineering Expert to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of our Technical Function, you will play a crucial role in supporting our project teams and providing technical design advice from a structural engineering perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing front-end design advice from a structural engineering perspective
  • Supporting project teams to direct design teams and produce adequate information for integrated design solutions
  • Developing knowledge of procurement, buildability, and practical implications of design solutions
  • Reviewing design delivery to enhance quality of solutions and efficiency of design
  • Retaining information for lessons learned and preparing technical guidance documents

Requirements:

  • First degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Discipline or equivalent
  • Chartered Engineer with the IStructE or ICE
  • Minimum 7 years' design consultancy experience, including experience with different procurement routes and sectors
