About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineering Expert to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of our Technical Function, you will play a crucial role in supporting our project teams and providing technical design advice from a structural engineering perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide front-end design advice from a structural engineering perspective
  • Support project teams to direct design teams and produce adequate information for integrated design solutions
  • Develop knowledge of procurement, buildability, and practical implications of design solutions
  • Review design delivery to enhance quality of solutions and efficiency of design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, and handover
  • Retain information for lessons learned and prepare technical guidance documents
Requirements
  • First degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Discipline or other appropriate construction-related qualification with design-related experience
  • Chartered Engineer with the IStructE or ICE
  • Minimum 7 years' design consultancy experience with different procurement routes, sector experience, and end-to-end design management
