Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our project, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with our Safety Management System.
  • Maintain accurate records of statutory inspections and notifications.
  • Deliver health and safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
  • Manage and recommend personal protective equipment (PPE) for on-site employees.
  • Assist site management in compiling cost records and forecasts for health and safety issues.
  • Organise and chair site safety meetings.
  • Review sub-contractors' safety statements and compliance.
  • Draft and communicate method statements.
  • Maintain and communicate emergency plans.
  • Investigate accidents and notify the Group Safety Manager.
  • Ensure first aiders are available and maintained.
Requirements:
  • Health and Safety certification or degree is essential.
  • 2 years' experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum
