Job Title: Interventional Radiology Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Interventional Radiology Nurse to join our team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As an Interventional Radiology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in our Radiology Department.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care for patients undergoing specialized interventional procedures. You will also participate in the pre-assessment of patients, scrub assist, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing skills in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Radiology Department.
  • Assess patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care for patients undergoing specialized interventional procedures.
  • Participate in the pre-assessment of patients, scrub assist, and recovery.
  • Carry out relevant forms of care without direct supervision, working effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in the support of all members of staff within Radiology, including students of nursing/radiography and visiting healthcare professionals.
  • Actively participate in the teaching and mentoring of students and junior staff.
  • Deputise when deemed necessary in the absence of the Radiology Lead or Deputy Nurse.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience in a Radiology Department or a similar healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of patient care and support principles.
  • Ability to assess patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care.
