Exciting Opportunity for a Full-Time Outdoor/Forest Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Full-Time Outdoor/Forest Teacher at our wonderful preparatory school in Reading. As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and experiential learning opportunities that inspire and empower students.

About the Role

As a Full-Time Outdoor/Forest Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering outdoor learning sessions, forest school activities, and adventurous experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and teamwork. You will integrate outdoor education into the curriculum across all age groups, from Reception to Year 8, to enhance learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging and hands-on outdoor learning experiences that enhance students' understanding of various subjects and foster a deeper connection with the natural world.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design cross-curricular projects and thematic units that incorporate outdoor learning principles.
  • Evaluate the impact of outdoor education initiatives and provide feedback to inform future planning and development.
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to take risks, challenge themselves, and develop essential life skills.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant experience teaching across the preparatory age range, from Reception to Year 8.
  • A passion for outdoor education and a strong understanding of forest school principles, outdoor learning pedagogy, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new challenges and experiences.
