We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Polaris Community, responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in the delivery of high-quality care and services to young people in our residential care settings.
Main Responsibilities- Service Delivery and Practice
- Develop and implement high-quality care plans in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organizational policies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for young people.
- Lead and manage a team of care workers, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent outcomes for young people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective partnerships and service delivery.
- Human Resource Management
- Recruit, induct, and supervise staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Leadership and Management
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring a positive and supportive work environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and outcomes for young people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Level 3 qualification in Children's and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management or willingness to complete the qualification.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience of managing a team and leading service delivery.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, young people, and external agencies.
- Ability to maintain emotional resilience in working with challenging behavior.
- Demonstrate respect for appropriate boundaries and authority.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to equal opportunities.
- Holds a current UK driving license or has the use of appropriate transport.
- Flexible and reliable.
- 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays.
- 39 hours full-time, with sleep-in duties required as set out per Rota of home.
- Petrol Allowance - Paid when using own car - proof of business insurance must be provided.
- Pension - In line with the organizational Pension Scheme and government guidance.
