About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team and help our clients deploy data pipelines and processes in a production-safe manner. As a Data Engineer, you'll work with the latest technologies and in a fast-moving, agile environment to deliver modern data platforms into large organizations.

You'll be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining data applications, systems, and services, combining software engineering discipline with data solution expertise. You'll work with a wide range of tools and technologies, including cloud data services such as Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Kafka, Redshift, Glue, Athena, BigQuery, S3, and Cloud Data Fusion.

As a BJSS Data Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, learning about and using new data services and technologies. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled consultants, delivering modern data platforms into large organizations.

About You
  • You're an engineer at heart, with a passion for building reliable, efficient data applications, systems, services, and platforms.
  • You have a good understanding of coding best practices, design patterns, and experience with code and data versioning, dependency management, code quality, and optimization.
  • You're proficient in writing well-tested object-oriented Python code and have experience with using CI/CD tooling to analyze, build, test, and deploy your code.
  • You have a good understanding of design choices for data storage and data processing, with a particular focus on cloud data services.
  • You're experienced in using parallel computing to process large datasets and optimize computationally intensive tasks.
  • You have experience in programmatically deploying, scheduling, and monitoring components in a workflow.
  • You're skilled in writing complex queries against relational and non-relational data stores.
