Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced neonatal nurse to coordinate discharges in our unit. This role offers the opportunity to work in a level 2 Neonatal Unit (NNU) and Transitional Care Unit (TCU) based in the postnatal ward.

The ideal candidate will have experience in neonatal care and be able to provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues on the discharge process. They will also be responsible for facilitating seamless discharge of babies with complex needs from the NNU and TCU by liaising with relevant agencies outside the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Follow the discharge pathway within the neonatal service and provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues.
  2. Facilitate seamless discharge of babies with complex needs from the NNU and TCU.
  3. Take responsibility for a determined group of patients without direct supervision.
  4. Supervise and teach junior staff and pre and post-registration students.
  5. Work within the codes of practice, professional guidelines, and policies.
