We are working with a scaling Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) health and wellness business focused on delivering better nutrition by offering specialist nutritionist-designed products specifically for women. Their mission is to empower women globally to become the best version of themselves. This role is available due to the company's significant growth and ambitious goals, offering you the opportunity to shape your own growth and development. They are seeking a Head of Product Development/Innovation to join their team; this role offers the opportunity to drive innovative product launches and category development, leading the innovation process from end to end. You'll be working in an agile, fast-paced, and exciting high-growth environment of this scaling D2C business, playing a pivotal role in its success and growth.


Role Overview


As the Head of Product Development/Innovation, you will be responsible for working closely with the Founder and internal teams to manage the innovation process from end to end. This will be a truly creative role, which will see you ideate new product ideas and categories based on market insight and trends, managing the full product life-cycle. You'll be someone who is familiar with scoping out market trends, taking key insights, and translating them into commercially viable product ideas and then bringing them to reality and fruition. Products are currently D2C, but there is potential to go into retail/grocery with the Head of Product Development/Innovation playing a big part in this ambition. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Marketing, Operations/Logistics, while also working closely with external suppliers and third-parties, including manufacturers and supply chain. The ambition is to launch 4 new products per year, and if there is a commercial case, potential to build your own team.


Your Responsibilities


  • A self-starter with bags of energy; you'll enjoy having the autonomy of managing your own processes
  • A proven track record of extending a category/taking a brand/product into a new area or space
  • Background working in a senior Product Development/Innovation role within the FMCG industry, i.e., food/wellness/nutrition/supplements/beauty, etc.
  • Experience working on innovation/product development for multiple SKUs and products
  • Blue-Sky Innovation approach and growth mind-set
  • Hands-on, roll your sleeves up attitude
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; this is a high-growth, scaling business rather than a corporate giant, so things move quickly
