Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to contribute to and learn about working with people with complex emotional needs within a secondary care community mental health setting.

This role offers an opportunity to join a friendly team of psychological therapy professionals from diverse backgrounds and work towards engaging hard-to-engage service users who may be traumatized and exhibit emotional dysregulation and self-harm.

Responsibilities
  1. Work sensitively to engage service users and provide a range of appropriate evidence-based health interventions for clients with more complex and severe, enduring mental illnesses.
  2. Offer psychoeducation groups, managing emotions groups, safety and stabilization groups, mentalization-based treatment, and dialectical behavior treatment.
  3. Liaise effectively with colleagues to offer advice on potential referrals, conduct joint assessments, and contribute to discussions on recommendations for future treatment and management.
  4. Conduct emergency assessments and initiate and carry through safeguarding as clinically indicated.
  5. Undertake risk assessments and manage risk to maintain a safe and therapeutically sensitive environment.
