We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Architect to join our team at Oliver Bernard. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a genuine impact on the direction of our company. As the first Principal Architect to join our business, you will have a significant influence on our technical approach and will be heavily involved in shaping our engineering practices and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of our technology solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with our CTO to develop and implement technical strategy, driving innovation and growth.
  • Oversee a team of Software Engineers and Architects, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
  • Develop and maintain effective software engineering practices and technologies, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency, mission-critical systems, leveraging expertise in Java OO Language, service-oriented architecture, enterprise messaging solutions, and relational database design.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, including AWS/Amazon Web Services, and ensure our solutions are optimized for cloud deployment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Principal Architect or Principal Engineer, with a strong track record of designing system architecture and leading technical teams.
  • Solid experience in senior technology leadership roles, such as Lead Solutions Architect, Senior Principal Engineer, or Senior Staff Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of building high-throughput, low-latency, mission-critical systems, with expertise in Java OO Language, service-oriented architecture, enterprise messaging solutions, and relational database design.
  • Expertise in cloud technology, including AWS/Amazon Web Services.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate technical teams.
