Job Title: Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team in the Defence and Nuclear sector. As a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for providing safety case support throughout the design life of a facility and/or operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy and working closely with project partners to ensure a safety-informed design.
  • Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis, producing safety reports and other technical documents.
  • Providing safety case support throughout the design life of a facility and/or operation, supporting clients in managing nuclear safety and ensuring compliance with Licence Conditions and/or Authorisation Condition.
  • Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard Analysis Assessments, Safety Case Report production, and Support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
  • Liaison with regulatory organisations and Development and review of Safety Management Arrangements.
  • Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.
Requirements:
  • A proven track record in safety, ideally within the defence and nuclear domain, or other highly regulated industries.
  • A strong technical background in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline, with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles.
  • Excellent written skills and an eye for detail, with the ability to produce and review high-quality technical reports.
  • Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality.
  • Awareness of their own technical limitations and the ability to use the help and support of others to deliver.
