Job Title: Health and Safety Compliance Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Compliance Manager to join our team at Lucas Executive Search. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety compliance across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the health and safety team to achieve business objectives.
  • Participate in corporate activities, including discipline, grievance, and complaint investigations, and recruitment panels.
  • Operate, maintain, and review procedures and systems in line with a quality management system and external agency auditing requirements.
  • Deliver internal and external management processes to resolution, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice.
  • Ensure all regulatory and legislative risks associated with building health, safety, and compliance are managed effectively.
  • Lead the organization's response to fire safety, gas safety, asbestos, legionella, and LOLER as Responsible Person to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Develop and monitor operational plans in respect of compliance service delivery.
  • Be responsible for identification and resolution of any instances of non-compliance.
  • Develop and manage annual programs of cyclical service maintenance.
  • Ensure that agreed policies, practices, and procedures are being implemented and lead on the continual review and development of policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic H&S advice and support on all matters of H&S.

Candidate Profile:

  • Level six qualification (e.g. Bachelor's Degree, Graduate diploma) or above in a Health and Safety, Construction, or Facilities Management related discipline.
  • 3 years relevant experience of health and safety and/or construction at a supervisory level.
  • OR 5 years relevant experience (as outlined above).
  • Relevant experience must include:
    • Management and application of health and safety legislation.
    • Providing advice on statutory compliance.
    • Responsibility for designated budgets and associated expenditure.
    • Procurement of technical works and/or services.
    • Experience of constructing business cases, board reports, and presentations.
    • Experience of supervising staff, which should include directing/delegating work and dealing with problems, including identification and resolution.
