Salaried General Practitioner

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking salaried GP to join our team of GPs and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Perform clinical examinations of patients to assess, diagnose, and monitor conditions
- Cover on-call duties
- Carry out patient consultations within the surgery
- Monitor patients' conditions and wellbeing
- Carry out home visits where necessary
- Diagnose and treat various illnesses/ailments
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals as part of multidisciplinary teams
- Undertake all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
We are based in Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre in the heart of Brierley Hill, Dudley. Our practice team includes 4 GP partners, 1 nurse, 1 HCA, 2 PA's, 1 midwife, 1 first contact physio, and highly trained admin and reception teams. We have an additional clinical team working within the practice as part of the primary care network, including listening and guidance, podiatrist, dietician, pharmacists, and mental health nurse.
We support the training of medical students from all clinical backgrounds and have excellent relations with our neighbouring practices. We are part of a 7-practice successful primary care network.
Job ResponsibilitiesClinical ResponsibilitiesThe post-holder will be responsible for undertaking a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
They will make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
They will assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education, admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload, and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
They will record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, collect data for audit purposes, compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary, and undertake all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Other Responsibilities within the OrganisationThe post-holder will be expected to be aware of and comply with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, and a commitment to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
They will contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation, contribute to the development of computer-based patient records, contribute to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient data, and attend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
