Avara Foods Ltd: People Development Manager Job Description

We are looking for a talented People Development Manager to join our team at Avara Foods Ltd. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the development of our employees and contributing to the company's growth and success.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective Learning and Development initiatives, overseeing the site's talent management process, and providing guidance on employee engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective Learning and Development initiatives, in alignment with succession planning, regulatory requirements, and skills development
  • Oversee the site's talent management process, ensuring that employees have access to opportunities for growth and development
  • Provide guidance on employee engagement strategies, including leading forums, union meetings, and listening groups
  • Collaborate with the Site Operational Team to manage headcount requirements, retention, and recruitment planning and onboarding
  • Monitor and facilitate compliance with Human Rights and Ethics policies, supporting audits, and guiding managers
  • Provide and monitor up-to-date KPIs on compliance matters
  • Lead people change projects as necessary
  • Work closely with the wider HR Teams to deliver comprehensive HR support
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external partners such as Occupational Health and contractors
Requirements:
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing or fast-paced organisation in a HR Manager role (Food Industry experience is desirable)
  • CIPD level 5 qualified or above and committed to continued professional development
  • Strong knowledge in employment law and regulations and experience in advising on complex ER matters
  • Knowledge and experience of managing large change projects including restructures and changes to terms and conditions
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions
  • Resilience, great influencing, and communication skills
  • Confident leadership skills with a knack for motivating, mentoring, and developing teams
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages
Salary and Benefits:

£50,000 - £55,000 per annum

33 days annual leave entitlement (including Bank holidays)
