Job Title: Senior Respite Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Respite Nurse to join our team at James Hopkins Trust. As a Senior Respite Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical nursing care to children with complex needs, ensuring their safety and well-being in a supportive and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership to the respite care team, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children with complex needs, working in partnership with families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure they develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring they are tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • Participate in quality control monitoring and auditing processes to ensure the safe delivery of care and maintain high standards through best practice.
Requirements:
  • Registered Children's Nurse with a minimum of four years of post-registration experience in nursing children with complex needs.
  • Experience in supervising and supporting junior staff members, with a proven track record of developing and mentoring others.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, other healthcare professionals, and the respite care team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to travel independently around Gloucestershire.
