About the Role:

Technical Director

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Director to join our team at Avara Foods. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our technical function, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, and championing our quality proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the technical function, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards
  • Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure food safety, legal compliance, and adherence to customer specifications
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective relationships and communication
  • Manage and maintain certification and accreditation with relevant licensing bodies and retailers
  • Develop and implement training programs for technical teams to ensure competence and compliance
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external service providers, such as hygiene pest control, laundry, and laboratories

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a technical management role in the food industry
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and other food safety management systems
  • Leadership skills and experience developing and engaging teams
  • Proactive champion for food safety and quality
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively
