About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Jonathan Lee Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our delivery team, you will work closely with customers and suppliers to design and develop innovative solutions for defence systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or systems engineering, with experience working in a hands-on environment. You will be responsible for heading designs and manufacturing tactical and strategic solutions to support new defence systems.

As a key point of contact with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, you will be responsible for innovating new ways to streamline and deliver systems quicker while maintaining cost, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative solutions for defence systems
  • Work closely with customers and suppliers to understand their needs and requirements
  • Head designs and manufacturing tactical and strategic solutions to support new defence systems
  • Act as the key point of contact with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders on engineering solutions

Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience working in a hands-on mechanical or systems background
  • Defence systems experience or working within this area
