Job Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at Imerys Aluminates site in West Thurrock. As a key member of our industrial team, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving electrical and automation equipment and systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Site Electrical Duty Holder
  • Manage and execute electrical, automation, and instrumentation work, including inspection, auditing, calibration, spare parts, drawings, risk assessments, and reactive and preventive maintenance
  • Operate, manage, and maintain Siemens automation systems, including fault finding, programming, and updating
  • Manage ECI compliance and statutory activities, including fixed wire testing, HV maintenance, earthing tests, PAT, and arc flash testing
  • Work on and manage high-voltage networks and drives
  • Manage ECI projects, including designs, specifications, documentation, contract management, installation, commissioning, spare parts, and training
  • Adhere to Health and Safety standards and ensure all ECI tasks are performed in compliance with regulations and company procedures
  • Participate in training, development, and appointment of other industrial engineers
  • Respond to after-hours consultations and provide technical support during equipment failures

Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Control/Automation Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Experience of industrial electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including valves, sensors, probes, and control circuits
  • Proven experience of fault finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process systems
  • Background of working within a chemical or oil refinery industry or heavy production/manufacturing/process environment
  • Experience of working on/with Siemens (PCS7), SCADA (WinCC), Profibus, and Profinet systems
  • Ability to use AutoCAD and Trimble
  • Hold a Health and Safety NEBOSH or IOSH Certification
  • Willingness to respond to after-hours breakdowns
  • Legally able to drive in the UK
