Polaris Community is seeking a skilled Residential Care Specialist to provide high-quality support to young males aged 13-18 years in our residential homes in Surrey and West Sussex.

Main Duties
  1. To foster a safe and welcoming environment that prioritizes the emotional well-being and developmental needs of the young people.
  2. To remain knowledgeable about relevant legislation, guidelines, and policies to ensure compliance with the Children's Act, Children's Homes Regulations, and National Minimum Standards.
  3. To monitor and record young people's progress, highlighting their achievements, behavior, and significant life events.
  4. To engage with local authorities and placing authorities to deliver exceptional care for the young people.
  5. To develop and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers, supporting young people's educational and personal development.
  6. To be flexible within working practices, including participating in domestic duties within the home.
  7. To maintain accurate and legible records concerning the young people.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with teenage boys or challenging behavior, along with a commitment to professional development. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are required due to the rural location. A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification is necessary.

This role demands flexibility with working hours, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. The ability to challenge unacceptable behavior, provide firm boundaries, and deliver care that meets individual needs is essential. Effective communication both verbally and in writing is crucial.

For this position, we offer an estimated hourly rate of £95.
