Job Title: Head of Governance

Join Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust as we seek an exceptional individual to lead our Governance and Safety team. As Head of Governance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of care for women, babies, and their families.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our Governance and Safety strategy, working closely with senior leaders and clinicians to drive quality improvement and patient safety. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality governance and risk management, with experience of managing multiple teams and budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of our Governance and Safety strategy, ensuring alignment with national regulatory frameworks and quality agendas.
  • Manage and develop the Governance and Safety team, providing coaching and mentoring support to ensure staff are equipped to deliver high-quality governance and risk management.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and clinicians to drive quality improvement and patient safety, ensuring effective partnership working with multiple external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement effective governance and risk management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and CQC standards.
  • Provide highly visible leadership across the Trust, promoting effective staff engagement and demonstrating appropriate role modeling as a senior leader.
Person Specification

We are seeking an individual with a strong background in quality governance and risk management, with experience of leading and managing teams. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, clinicians, and external stakeholders.

Essential qualifications include a master's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with evidence of continuing professional development to support the delivery of a senior role in quality governance.
