About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Speech and Language Therapist in delivering high-quality services to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Speech and Language Therapist in conducting assessments and developing treatment plans for students with communication disorders.
  • Support the implementation of individualized therapy programs and provide direct support to students in a variety of settings.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, psychologists, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of student progress and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in speech and language therapy.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with communication disorders and/or autism spectrum disorder.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
