Job Title: IQA Supervisor
CITB is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IQA Supervisor to lead and manage a team of vocational assessors in delivering high-quality vocational training and assessment. The successful candidate will have a minimum of Level 3 vocational qualification directly related to the role, specialist licence to practice qualifications, and relevant industry experience in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Line manage and lead a team of vocational assessors in delivering high-quality vocational training and assessment.
- Ensure compliance against all external awarding organisation requirements.
- Liaise with external awarding organisations and end point assessment organisations.
- Lead and deliver CPD sessions for Apprenticeship Development Coaches/Apprenticeship Officers.
- Ensure that all learners log and record their evidence regularly and accurately.
- Regularly quality assure learners work to ensure that they meet the requirements of the qualification.
- Regularly quality assure the standard of assessments and the judgements made by vocational assessors, vocational instructors, and lecturers.
- Carry out the assessment of learners work and performance and support and guide learners when gathering workplace evidence and when developing their portfolios.
- Maintain the integrity of all qualifications within occupational area of responsibility.
- Regularly quality assure learner End Point Assessment portfolios of evidence and ensure that these meet the required standards of the external awarding organisation.
- Ensure that vocational assessors provide all learners with regular written and verbal feedback on their work and performance.
- Ensure that learner progress is tracked and monitored using a Learner Management System.
- Contribute to the development of new products, including teaching, learning, and assessment resources and the development of new qualifications and apprenticeship standards.
- Ensure that vocational assessors regularly keep employers up to date with the progress learners are making in developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for the qualification.
- Ensure that vocational assessors keep Team members up to date with the progress that learners are making in the workplace.
- Work closely with Specialist Construction Federations and Training Groups to improve support and develop a competent workforce.
- Ensure that vocational assessors carry out high-quality assessments and training in the workplace to ensure that learners confidently demonstrate the technical and specialist knowledge, skills, and behaviours required in industry.
- Develop learners personal, English, maths, and digital skills to support them to succeed in society and the world of work.
- Participate in the learner at risk process and implement strategies to ensure that all learners falling behind are quickly brought back on track.
- Provide learners with information, advice, and guidance relating to career progression opportunities.
- Follow all safeguarding policies and practices and be responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all learners feel safe, included, and supported.
- Ensure that all learners and colleagues work safely and always follow all health and safety rules and regulations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant industry professionals, employers, and other stakeholders to ensure that industry specialisms are kept up to date.
- Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to keep up to date with changing teaching, learning, and assessment methodologies.
- Always display positive behaviours and attitudes to colleagues and learners.
Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum of Level 3 vocational qualification directly related to the role applied for.
- Specialist licence to practice qualifications relevant to the role applied for.
- Relevant industry experience in the construction industry in a related role.
- Excellent knowledge of current industry practices.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant qualifications and apprenticeship standards.
- Minimum of Level 3 teaching qualification (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing role).
- Assessor and IQA Awards (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Educated to level 2 or above in English and maths.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- Higher level construction related qualification.
- Level 5 teaching qualification.
Special Conditions/Other Requirements:
- Able to work non-standard hours as required.
- Able to travel and make occasional overnight stops.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Enhanced DBS/PVG check.
