This pivotal role is critical in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial reporting, aligning our financial operations with business objectives, and maintaining robust financial controls in compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of financial data and reports, providing actionable insights to support decision-making at all levels.
  • Maintain and implement robust financial controls in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Develop and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with departmental heads to align financial goals with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse budget performance, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures to optimise financial outcomes.
  • Support long-term financial planning to align resources with growth strategies and business development initiatives.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

  • Manage cash flow planning and ensure the availability of funds as needed to support business operations.
  • Oversee the company's treasury operations, including risk management, investments, and debt financing.
  • Collaborate with financial institutions to manage relationships and optimise financing arrangements.

Compliance & Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation.
  • Coordinate external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Lead internal audits and implement measures to mitigate risk and enhance financial integrity.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and team capabilities.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to support team members' career progression.

Strategic Support:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and strategies that support business growth and expansion.
  • Analyse potential investments, mergers, and acquisitions, preparing reports to aid in decision-making.
  • Lead or contribute to key projects related to finance and business transformation.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management or a similar role.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing a finance team.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and hands-on approach.
