About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Electronics Engineer to join our team at James Fisher and Sons plc. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing design solutions and through-life engineering support to our product range.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing engineering design input to new products
  • Providing engineering support to the existing product range
  • Assessing technical queries and providing engineering solutions
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure the best technical solution is provided
  • Sourcing suitable components and materials
  • Creation of part numbers and bill of materials
  • Creation of engineering documentation
  • Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation
  • Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget
  • Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes

What do you need?

Essential:

  • Electronics/Electrical degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Skilled in generating design calculations
  • Knowledge of design standards
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems design for EMC compliance
  • Previous product design experience, particularly DC systems
  • Experience with product lifecycle management system for generating and storage of engineering packages

This role will require the successful candidate to be able to gain UK Security Clearance (SC). You will need to have the right to live and work in the UK and also live within a commutable distance to Inchinnan, Glasgow.
