Electrical and Electronics Engineer

To provide engineering design solutions and support to the product range. The workload can vary from new product design to meet client or internal specifications, to supporting existing clients' requests to upgrade or change equipment in the field.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Day-to-Day Role:
- Provide engineering design input to new products.
- Support the existing product range with engineering expertise.
- Assess technical queries and provide engineering solutions for a wide-ranging product portfolio.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure the best technical solution is provided.
- Sourcing suitable components and materials when required.
- Creation of part numbers and bill of materials.
- Engineering documentation creation, including specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification, and reports.
- Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation.
- Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.
- Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes.
- Site visits to other offices and client assets as required.
- Accountability and responsibility as technical checker of drawings and documentation generated in support of the mechanical engineer role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal.
- Ability to work as part of a team but also in isolation when required.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effectively identify and communicate critical tasks and key risks.
- At ease dealing directly with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Methodical and thorough while generating and checking drawings.
- Ability to adapt to changing scope or client demands.
- Willingness to take ownership and accountability of tasks and drive to completion.
- Capable of reacting to changes and willing to go the extra mile to deliver quality products.
- Focused on delivering cost-efficient solutions on time and on budget.
- Ability to work effectively within a team structure, accept and understand management instruction, and manage own and specified timescales effectively.
Essential:
- Electronics/Electrical degree, or equivalent industry experience.
- Skilled in generating design calculations.
- Knowledge of design standards.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems design for EMC compliance.
- Previous product design experience, particularly DC systems.
- Experience with product lifecycle management system for generating and storage of engineering packages.
- This role requires the successful candidate to be able to gain UK Security Clearance (SC).
- The successful candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK and live within a commutable distance to Inchinnan, Glasgow.
