Job Description

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to work within our partner SEND school setting in the Taunton area. The Behaviour Support Worker role involves supporting school-aged pupils who have been identified as having Social and Emotional Mental Health needs.

This will include supporting pupils in the classroom alongside the Class Teacher and other members of support staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Be compassionate, understanding and caring.
  • Be flexible, proactive and a team player.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Be able to demonstrate at interview the reasons why you want to start a career in education, and explain your understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant and the important part they play in the school community.
  • Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe.
  • Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.

The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable pupils and will be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £12.86 - £13 per hour (dependent on experience), paid weekly by our in-house Payroll team using the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system.

Pension contributions will also be made (subject to a qualifying period).

In addition, we offer FREE training to help with your professional development, such as Team Teach training, online webinars and safeguarding and child protection updates.
