Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocational Trainer in Motor Vehicle to join our team at Cheshire College - South & West. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment to learners in the motor vehicle sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Assessment: Deliver training and assessment to learners up to Level 3 in the motor vehicle sector, both in the workplace and in the college.
  • Learner Support: Provide support to learners to ensure they achieve their full potential, including assessment in the workplace and curriculum delivery.
  • Apprenticeship Management: Ensure timely achievement of apprenticeship frameworks and standards, and promote the welfare of children and young persons in line with college policies.
Person Specification
  • Assessor Qualification: Hold a TAQA/A1 or equivalent assessor qualification, or be willing to work towards one.
  • Teaching Qualification: Hold a PGCE or be willing to work towards one.
  • Industry Experience: Have industry-relevant qualifications to a minimum of Level 3 (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent), and up-to-date occupational experience in the motor vehicle sector.
  • Awarding Body Knowledge: Have knowledge and understanding of awarding body standards and requirements.
  • Equality and Diversity: Have understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in work and the learning environment.
  • Further Education Experience: Have experience of working in further education, and be familiar with the college's policies and procedures.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a full current driving licence, and be willing to use a car for business purposes.
