Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Wells City Practice. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clinical team by ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct medication reviews and provide advice on the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Act as a Technical Pharmacy Advisor to Practice Clinicians.
  • Support the management of repeat prescriptions and ensure timely and accurate production.
  • Assist with the implementation of prescribing policies and guidelines.
  • Provide support for the management of long-term conditions and chronic disease management.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards in all aspects of pharmacy practice.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Offer advice and support to patients on medication-related queries.

Key Working Relationships

Develop and maintain key working relationships with:

  • Practice GPs, Practice Nurses, and HCAs.
  • Patients and Carers where appropriate.
  • Practice Management, Reception, and other Administrative staff.
  • Secondary Care Pharmacists.
  • CCG Head of Medicines Management & Medicines Management Team.
  • Community Nurses and other allied health professionals.
  • Community Pharmacists and support staff.
Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Completed or progressing on Primary Care Education Pathway.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a primary care or community pharmacy setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
