About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team at BIMM Institute. This is a part-time role, working 18.75 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote safety awareness across the campus by disseminating information, providing training, and implementing initiatives.
  • Lead the execution of health and safety policies and procedures at the campus level.
  • Collaborate with the People team to identify health and safety training needs and arrange for external trainers as necessary.
  • Delegate health and safety tasks to other team members, including routine testing, inspections, audits, risk assessments, and addressing accidents and near misses.
  • Oversee the deployment and use of health and safety software/systems on campus.
  • Evaluate compliance with health and safety standards for all external venues and activities.
  • Collect, monitor, and report on health and safety performance data.
  • Address non-compliance concerns and escalate issues to the Building and Technical Services Manager when necessary.
What You'll Bring:
  • A good standard of general education, including English and Maths.
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Proven experience in carrying out risk assessments, health and safety inspections, and audits.
  • An IOSH qualification.
  • Demonstrated success in deploying health and safety policies or procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Competency in using digital tools and software.
Compensation Package:

This role comes with an estimated annual salary of £28,500 - £30,000 (part-time), depending on qualifications and experience.
