Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to our patients, with a focus on veterans and individuals with complex mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess, manage, and deliver care to patients with complex mental health needs, including those with trauma-related presentations.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk assessments, and medication reviews.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and other evidence-based interventions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and agencies to provide comprehensive care.
  • Take a leadership role in service development and improvement, including contributing to research and education initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry.
  • Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility).
  • Registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Other relevant post-graduate qualification.
  • Training as an approved trainer/clinical supervisor in line with GMC recognition and approval of trainers.
  • Experience in teaching small and large groups.
  • Experience in developing policies and protocols.
