Economic Analyst

Goldman Sachs' Global Investment Research (GIR) division provides investment recommendations through fundamental research and analysis of companies, industries, markets, and economies. Our clients include asset managers, hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds, and major non-financial corporations.
The Macro Research team focuses on the intersection of economics and financial markets across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income/credit, currencies, and commodities.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an analyst to join the Europe Economics team in London. Working closely with the chief Europe economist and other team members, the successful candidate will:
- Analyze and interpret high-frequency economic data releases
- Develop and maintain proprietary economic indicators and forecasting models
- Collaborate with economists on research projects and publications
- Publish occasional research pieces
- Engage with sales, trading, and investment banking teams, as well as external clients, to provide insights and explanations
The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in macroeconomics, a Master's degree in Economics, and excellent analytical skills. Proficiency in statistical analysis and computer programming is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are also required. Relevant work experience is advantageous.
