About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Manager to join our award-winning Energy team at J. Murphy & Sons Limited. As a Planning Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that Substation projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain integrated, whole-life programmes from first principles in accordance with Planning and Work Winning procedures.
  • Analyse tender programmes to ensure planning and scheduling are contractually compliant, robust, and achievable.
  • Lead the roll-out and adoption of planning and project controls procedures and processes.
  • Organise resources to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage the proper and controlled use of Enterprise planning tools.
  • Contribute to the development of business unit and sector plans and strategies.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Experience managing a small team of planners.
  • Experience in contract and tender planning for a Tier 1 contractor.
  • Experience of projects for Overhead Lines, HV Cabling, or Substations.
  • Experience within planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA).
  • Degree educated, preferably in a Construction or Engineering discipline.
