About The Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Officer to join our team at the British Red Cross. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, open, distribute, and record all incoming mail, ensuring priority mail is handled efficiently.
  • Ensure all outgoing mail is franked, bagged, and available for collection by Royal Mail and other carriers each day.
  • Undertake reception duties, including dealing with supplies, deliveries, and visitors.
  • Assist in the management and allocation of meeting rooms, ensuring they are set up and ready for use.
  • Report and address any facilities issues promptly and undertake any facilities duties assigned.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of ID cards, including reporting, printing, packaging, and disposal.
  • Provide data processing services as required by teams in Shared Services to provide cover.
  • Collate, order, and distribute stationery as needed.
Requirements
  • A positive, passionate, and enthusiastic approach to customer service.
  • Confidence in using telephone systems, bespoke company IT/data systems, Microsoft packages, and Outlook.
  • General administrative duties, including incoming and outgoing mail, answering the telephone, scanning, filing, meeting, and greeting clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with queries in a diplomatic, professional, sensitive, and confidential manner.
  • Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail when checking documentation.
  • Educated to standard grade level or equivalent.
  • Well-organized with sound administrative skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge base in office organizational skills, post opening, and distribution.
