Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at ACS Business Performance Ltd. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of electrical design tasks, including drawings, parts specifications, risk assessments, installation procedures, and calculations.

You will work closely with other disciplines to ensure that solutions meet all relevant legal and safety standards, as well as quality expectations within committed timescales. This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to work in conjunction with the assigned Project Engineer, Structural Engineer, and Design Engineer.

The successful candidate will have experience in schematic and wiring diagram drawing production, ideally in Solid Edge software. They will also have a proven track record of leading small teams in the production of on-train electrical design solutions from concept to installation.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the production of electrical design solutions from concept to installation.
  2. Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure solutions meet all relevant legal and safety standards.
  3. Developing and maintaining electrical design standards and procedures.
  4. Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  5. Undertaking vehicle surveys and on-site installation support.
