Job Title: Applications Chemist - Elastomers

At Ingevity, we are seeking a highly skilled Applications Chemist to join our Elastomers team. As a key member of our Innovation & Technical Services department, you will be responsible for developing and characterizing polyurethane elastomer products derived from Capa polyols in our laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and characterize polyurethane elastomer products, including cast elastomers, thermoplastic PU elastomers, and others.
  • Carry out application testing (reactivity, viscosity, etc.) of elastomers and associated intermediates.
  • Support the Development Chemist in the day-to-day operation of the Elastomers Application Lab, including implementation of lab requests, maintaining stock inventory, and ensuring continuous operation of lab equipment.
  • Participate in other activities in the CapaTM Innovation Lab, such as Capa polyol sample preparation, new product design, and process development projects.
Requirements:
  • BSc or MSc degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related discipline.
  • Experience with polyurethane chemistry, industrial polymer development laboratory, and analytical, physical, and application testing of polymeric materials.
