We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Chemist to join our Elastomers team at Ingevity. As a key member of our Innovation & Technical Services department, you will be responsible for developing and characterizing polyurethane elastomer products in our laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and characterize polyurethane elastomer products, including cast elastomers, thermoplastic PU elastomers, and others.
- Carry out application testing (reactivity, viscosity, etc.) of elastomers and associated intermediates.
- Support the Development Chemist in the day-to-day operation of the Elastomers Application Lab, including implementation of lab requests, maintaining stock inventory, and ensuring continuous operation of lab equipment.
- Participate in other activities in the Capa Innovation Lab, such as Capa polyol sample preparation, new product design, and process development projects.
- BSc or MSc degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related discipline.
- Experience with polyurethane chemistry, industrial polymer development laboratory, and analytical, physical, and application testing of polymeric materials.
