Medical Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Cleaning and Catering Operative in Malton. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing excellent patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our facilities.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the designated area, providing a catering service on the wards, and assisting with the distribution of meals. Key duties will include:
- Ensuring the ward/area is cleaned in accordance with the work schedule, including lifting items and operating cleaning machinery.
- Undertaking specialist cleaning as required, under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Nurse in Charge and/or Infection Prevention Department.
- Assisting with the distribution of meals to wards, plating up meals, and making and distributing hot drinks.
- Cleaning and refilling water jugs, and maintaining a high level of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the area.
We are looking for someone who is able to read, write, and converse in English, with a good basic education and basic numeric skills. The successful candidate will also have a basic understanding of cleaning procedures, COSSH procedures, infection prevention and control, Food Hygiene Level 2, and relevant water systems training. Experience is not necessary, as full training will be given, but a willingness to learn and develop skills is essential.

Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have:
- Able to read, write, and converse in English.
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.
- Good basic education, including reading and writing plus basic numeric skills.
- Basic understanding or a willingness to complete appropriate qualifications and training, including knowledge of cleaning procedures, COSSH procedures, infection prevention and control, Food Hygiene Level 2, and relevant water systems training.
