Salary: circa £42,000 dependent on experience

As a Debt Recovery Specialist - Collection Strategy Expert, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the best use of media and collections tools to maximise collections and recoveries across departments. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate collection strategies, manage the departmental litigation operation, and drive changes to collection strategies in line with industry Codes of Practice and regulators.

  • You will pilot new methods for enforcement, control and implement social initiatives to support customers, and develop effective communication strategies to ensure compliance with SLC's and industry best practice.
  • Your expertise will also be required to manage the internal debt litigation function, control collection brands, and engage in governance forums to support key initiatives and ensure reporting controls and senior management visibility of performance.
  • In addition, you will project manage any required changes to debt processes, supporting internal and external audits, and implementing quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of collections activities.
What You'll Bring

To excel in this role, you will need a degree-level education or equivalent commercial experience, along with a working knowledge of debt and litigation processes, both domestic and commercial. Strong networking skills, effective communication, and influencing abilities are essential, as well as a proven track record in delivering change initiatives that add value.

Excellent project and programme management skills, prioritisation, and focus on quality and delivery within set timelines are also crucial. Experience in people management and change management is required, along with good understanding of process improvement tools and techniques.
