Job Description: As a Debt Collection Operations Manager at ScottishPower, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and ensuring operational efficiency. Reporting to [Position], you will lead a team of experienced professionals responsible for managing external debt collection agencies to achieve maximum performance in collecting Live and Final debt within the current regulatory framework. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of debt collection systems, processes models, and policies, with proven experience in managing commercial contracts and negotiating terms with external parties. Strong analytical and planning skills, combined with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, will enable you to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to deliver optimal results.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to drive debt recovery and increase revenue.
  • Manage a team of professionals responsible for interacting with external debt collectors, monitoring their performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as Procurement, Legal, and Data Protection, to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient contract administration.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute business plans, driving growth while maintaining a strong focus on operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation within the organisation.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and performance metrics, providing insights that inform business development and decision-making.

Requirements:
  • At least [X] years of experience in debt collection or a related field, preferably with a strong understanding of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with experience in data analysis and presentation tools.
