We are seeking a dedicated and organized Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Doonbank House Care Home. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in food preparation, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen area, including equipment and appliances.
- Receive, check, and store kitchen deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Implement safe food handling principles to maintain the highest standards of food safety.
- Follow cleaning procedures for different surfaces and equipment, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Present all areas in a well-maintained and professional condition.
- Practice safe systems of work to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Understand and adhere to Health and Safety at Work legislation.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Encourage and contribute to teamwork, supporting colleagues and working together effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
- Basic understanding of food safety and handling principles.
- Keen attention to detail for ensuring cleanliness and proper food storage.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
