About Us

We are a family-owned and well-established distribution company based in the UK. We offer a permanent role working 4 on, 4 off days from 6am-6pm with an annual salary of £32,000 plus excellent development opportunities.

As a Transport Planner, you will work closely with our team of 4 Planners and the Customer Service team to arrange deliveries of customer products on time and in full using the most effective means possible. This includes planning and coordinating transport schedules, optimising routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency, and managing drivers with their loads and start times.

  • Developing and maintaining accurate records and reports on transport activities
  • Ensuring compliance with all transport legislation and reducing tacho-graph infringement to be below company targets
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner or similar
  • At least 2 years experience working within transport planning, distribution or logistics ideally
  • Proficient in using transport management software and good knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail
