We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Support Worker Specialist to join our team at Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to older people in need.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. Our team provides a wide range of practical help, including collecting patients from hospital, basic shopping, and temporary key safes. We also offer assistance with moving small items of furniture, escorting patients to hospital appointments, and providing low-level support in essential areas such as food preparation and light household cleaning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with other team members to take referrals from health and social care staff, friends, and family members.
  • Carry out referrals or allocate volunteers where appropriate.
  • Complete referrals taken by the team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a relevant post or organisation.
  • Experience of contributing to a team environment.
  • Evidence of recent relevant continuing professional development.
  • Understanding of the needs and challenges that face older people and their families.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including:
