Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex engineering calculations to design and develop manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Analyze product requirements to determine the most effective manufacturing routing and develop equipment, processes, and products to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and implement tolerance analysis, process capability analysis, and bills of materials for equipment.
  • Design and develop CAD tooling and estimate costs and resource requirements for new processing equipment.
  • Collaborate with Product Development engineering to review product requirements and determine the best manufacturing processes and machine capabilities.
  • Determine the tools, fixtures, and equipment needed for extrusion, cross-linking, expansion, and finishing processes.
  • Select and procure purchase components for process tooling and create requisitions with delivery dates.
  • Improve test equipment and resolve problems involved in designing, changing, or rearranging processing lines.
  • Research and develop plans to evaluate, implement, and audit the efficacy of technology improvement projects.
  • Develop equipment requirement and specification documents.
  • Lead and implement process validations.
  • Plan, execute, evaluate, and document new equipment plant trials and complete summary reports.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in various engineering fields relating to manufacturing, new product and process development, automation, and equipment design.
  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, with a focus on process equipment design and automated systems.
  • Experience with extrusion and applicable tooling and high-shear compound mixing is desired.
  • Proficient in CAD and ANSYS.
  • Knowledge of control systems is desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and public speaking; fluent English speaking and written capabilities for representing the Company on matters affecting Company operations and/or its products.
