Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Process Improvement: Drive improvements across the manufacturing team to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including change controls, validation documents, and purchase orders.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain awareness of and control over spares and inventory levels.
  • Accountability and Responsibility: Ensure all personal activities are completed on time and to a high standard, including training and development.
  • Maintenance Instructions and Training: Develop and deliver clear and accurate maintenance instructions, and assist with the training and development of engineering and non-engineering staff.
  • Coverage and Support: Provide coverage for team members as required, including technical specialists and engineering coordinators.
EH&S Responsibilities
  • Emergency Procedures and Safe Systems of Work: Understand and follow emergency procedures and safe systems of work at all times.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with EHS and security policies and procedures, and conduct timely reporting and support investigation of accidents, near misses, and breaches of rules.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: HND level or higher in electrical control and automated systems, with a good understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Problem Solving and Logical Thinking: Proactive and logical approach to problem solving, with the ability to utilize company lean philosophies.
